Abaven's Despair

 By Shinju Oe

A/N: Part 2 of The Shahe Legacy. This is the time when Abaven is to meet the woman chosen or him...and he's already trying to reason out with himself if it's okay to be angry at Fallon for never giving him a chance... Meeting Fallon...on the assign venue for his personal meeting with his fiance...huhummm~ Hope you like this....

So long to you, my love
Don’t be afraid to runaway
I know you’ll be okay
Just take your time…to find

"His time if running out."
Desperation never does him any good.

Isn’t it just right to expect something from the person you’ve pleased in years? But did I really please her? The very idea made him smile bitterly. The truth is, he really doesn’t care if Fallon understands these feelings…truly… And yet, he craves for her attention – for a little love. His time is running out.

What does it take for her to give me a smile?

Just one would suffice. It takes only that to strengthen his resolve.

This is madness…

“Sir, the shipping came earlier than expected.”

Abaven merely nodded and the secretary left his huge office overlooking the vast metropolis – the office he built his dream in.

A multi-billion drug syndicate that started all because I wanted to please her…

He covered his face. Is he really trying to get angry with her? You can't blame her! You didn't even tell her you love her! A voice in his head shouted. True. He's too afraid she'd reject her...so tailing her seems to be the better option. At that time...at least.

He went back home to his apartment outside of HADES. He doesn't need Xenon to question his unusual actions. He lied on his bed staring at the ceiling. Does she even care…? He asked himself. Of course not, you dolt… She doesn’t know… He can feel his eyes water. Yes, she doesn’t know. All she knows of me is that I’m someone who annoys her to no ends…someone who supplies her medicines… I’m just someone in her world… The tears came. He chuckled to himself. He has always been a cry baby.

The mere thought of her knowing it's him was too much to handle.
But I need you here tonight
I need you here inside
I need you here tonight
I really, really need you here…tonight.

He stared at his mobile phone. Before he knows it, he's already dialing her number. And before he could hang up, her voice answered,

"Hello, who's this?"

He just froze.

"Hello?"

He bit his lower lip.

"I'm gonna hang up now..."

"Hey." He replied. "It's me..." There was a long pause.

"Shahe?"

The mere thought of her knowing it's him was too much to handle. It's not what he wants her to call him...but hearing her recognize his voice is enough. She recognizes me... He smiled. "Wow... You know my voice."

"Why'd you call? It's almost midnight."

"Well... I'm just wondering if you're okay?" He asked not knowing what else to say. He has called her before but...never in this state. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Hurry up then."

"She remembers."
Abaven took a deep breath. "Can you remember the first time you met me?" The long silence followed. "Hello?"

"I don't want to remind you...but you're the gigolo who tried to trip me."

There was a click and the line went dead. Abaven stared at the wall opposite his bed. She remembers...

Tomorrow, he will meet The Woman his father prepared for him.

Made up my mind on this
It’s too late for me to hold you back
Maybe too short or dumb
To cry for you but I will anyway
-------------------------------
He's ready.

The Westtown Hotel is bustling with people - vacationers, guests, regulars... But when he entered the dining area, it was as silent as the grave. He immediately saw a woman by the wide windows in a corner surrounded by no one. I see that dad really went out of his way to make this a Special meeting... He walked towards the woman - every step weighs like a ton. The Woman has long straight black hair and a very nice physique. There is no doubt she is beautiful. When he is but a step away, he bowed and greeted her. "Good morning."

"Hi! Good morning!"

The woman stood up almost tipping her glass on the table. Abaven smiled to himself. She's nervous...and she obviously likes me. He smiled kindly to her and helped her to sit once more. "Please..."

"Hi. I'm sorry...it's just that it's my first time seeing you... You know what? Your dad said you used to model for..."

Abaven stared at the beautiful woman in front of him who kept on babbling non-stop. He acts interested and thanked his stars that at the very least, he could manipulate this woman into thinking he likes her - a very normal act for him. He sipped his wine as he listened but his eyes are already wandering around the hotel. Part of his is already observing the people around them...near the entrance, the lobby...the reception area...the... He stopped. He could sense a very familiar presence walking out of the elevator. "Excuse me." Without thinking, he stood up and rushed off to the entrance of the dining hall where it connects to the elevator nearby. But before he could go any further, a woman entered the dining hall wearing an executive suit. Fallon...

"Congratulations."
Fallon stopped in her tracks when she was Abaven in front of her. "And...what are you doing here? I'm having a business meeting, Shahe... I don't have time to spare." She looked to the sides and saw the woman behind Abaven. "I see. Well, I hope you have a good time, Shahe..." She walked towards a long table as her staff followed behind her.

"I'm getting married, Altair..." He said not turning to face her. "Don't you want to co~"

"Congratulations."

The voice pierced him more than a knife. Steel yourself...she doesn't mean it... He sighed heavily and turned to the woman beside him. "Now...Eloise, shall we go back to our table? I'm sorry for the sudden disturbance..." He escorted her to where they were seated.

"Do you know her?"

"Why do I care?" Fallon wondered.

It's all my fault
To feel this way for you that day
I know I am and I will...
Though it's wrong, so wrong, so wrong...

Abaven wanted to shout out... I just talked to her, stupid! Of course I know her! But he smiled and replied. "She's a good friend of mine. As you can see...she's busy so I think she's just a little on the edge..."

Eloise laughed nervously. "Haha... I thought she's one of your lovers..."

If only... Abaven seated himself maintaining his immaculate smile. "Of course not! Hahahah!" But deep inside, he's already bleeding.

Not far from where he's seated, eyes silently observing. He's really getting married... What the hell am I bothered for? She shook her head.

A/N: THANK GOD all the depressing things are FINISHED! Hope you guys like this! Domo~
